This is my first critique, i hope this will be a help for you! Sorry for my bad english. The impact of black and white style is very graceful, and the overall picture is very beautiful. His beard seems clean and perfect for his hair-style. He seems brave and his eyes gives much charm in this work. The Freckles you have done are a nice particular, you must not underestimate that! Because in many jobs people do not bother to enter details such as freckles or spots. That mark you have used for draw complete all. More peaple maybe think that was a bad choice cause a perfect and clean line would have been better, but would not complete this work. His hairy chest is fantastic. The only flaw I can say is that it would be interesting to see him with the whole body, more of your hairy man was incomplete in past works. Hope you will do! Try to do a full album with this fast sketches. For Close my critique : Very Good Job David Kawena.
The drawing gives an astonishing impression. The hardness and manliness of the character suddenly strikes the viewer. It has been in my Favourites since you first posted it and now I couldn't help myself to write a critique, no matter how insignificant it might be for such an artist like you.
The technique is superb and is in no way critiqueable. The b/w technique helps to emphasise the details and foregrounds the gentleman-like seriousness. The position of his head allows the neck muscles to flex and get marked and reveals an astounding strong profile silhouette.
Regarding the concept itself:
On one side you have the chiselled jaw, so hard and sturdy, the firm frown, a very masculine Adam's apple and the perfect muscular structure of his neck, shoulders and chest.
On the other side you have the alluring freckles, his very natural facial and body hair, and that wild mane of his, wavy and unruly.
You have achieved a flawless combination of hardness and tenderness that makes him a charming and attractive character.
I am sorry for not giving you any bad or constructive feedback, but I felt like I had to break down every single perfect detail of this portrait for viewers to realise how talented an artist you are.
Congratulations for your work. Keep going, you have a firm follower and supporter here.
