------------------------------------------------- So, he is finally here! the newest addition to my Disney Heroes Collection, the one and the only - Aladdin!!!
Oh, I was in such a pressure drawing this one! well, I was... In the poll I took last month [link] Aladdin was voted number 1 for the next Disney Hero you were all wanted to see with 313 people voting for him, scoring 25% of the votes! And the comments on him were flowing, and I have read each and every comment on this poll!!! With all that in mind, creating this drawing was a struggle, as I didn't know what pose to have him in... front shot, back shot, to the side?! Eventually I ended up with a mix of everything, which I hope will be pleasing to you all - boys and girls!
Also, - as with the Tarzan [link] drawing from this collection, there's always the 'fear' of dealing with a Glen Keane character...
Aladdin is the first "Disney Hero" for 2008 and I couldn't think of a better guy to start the new year with! There will be lot's more Heroes coming this year, all those in the pool for sure but I will be including some surprises to the collection along the way! I would like to thank each and everyone of the 1187 people who took part in the poll for the next Disney Hero - the feedbacks I got were amazing, and listening to what you all think of these classic 2D animated Disney characters even now days, so many years after the movie they were in was released, is such an awesome feeling, as I really hope that Disney will bring back the 2D movies for good!
I gotta say that the results of this poll were kind of surprising to me - I mean - Winnie the Pooh in the 6th place?! Oh god You all know I was kidding about this one right?!

hmmmm. Im sorry, I love your collection but this is the only one where I really dont feel it is him. I think its I just dont see his character in this. His pose, his expression is just not right. I dont see the cheeky, mischevious boy. There is nothing that says Aladdin. Infact the only thing to recognise him as Aladdin is his hair.
Epic work as always!
