When it came to work Kristoff - a more buff, bulky guy then your average hero type - I wanted to capture as much as possible of his physique inside the frame. Also, I wanted to give him a bit more 'character' then in the film, something that would speak about his life growing up with the trolls. It was a part I felt the movie completely ignored and gave no insight into. Here Kristoff is presented with his own crystal necklace like each member of the trolls tribe is wearing. I also gave his 'out-fit' a bit of more tribal look, based on the Sami people culture and some of the principal character designs from the production of the film.
It took some time to create due a few previous works I've had to finish, but I must admit it was probably one of the most enjoyable time I've ever had working on a Disney Hero! So I hope you'll enjoy Kristoff and all he has to offer as much I had drawing him. Feel free to share
UPDATE - I've had many people asking what colours I used to create this one... So, it is a digital painting. I've been using Photoshop CS5, Wacom Intous 4 Large, and I work on an iMac computer.
Hope this helps out. DK.

Oh boy oh boy, these just keep getting better. I'm trying to leave a note with each "favourite" but I'm running out of things to say. Just keep up the good work and I hope you win the copyright fight you are in.
Sweet Jesus, THANK YOU. This is gorgeous. Kristoff is my favorite Disney hero of all time, and I am so glad you kept his well-muscled physique. Love the barn setting, the costume, inclusion of the lute, etc, etc… the fur has a beautiful texture (both on his clothes and on his body, bwahahahaa…) I can't stop staring at his gorgeous hand and chest/stomach. You are a master, sir.
