For a change - an oil and acrylic on canvas!!! Yeah!!!
This is a very old drawing of mine... I did way back in 2000 when Disney's Fantasia 2000 was released in movie theatres...
I don't think there's one person out there, no matter if they like animation or not, if they are artist themselves or whatever, not one person who witnessed the brilliance of the closing, final chapter of "Fantasia 2000" - titled "The FireBird Suite" could walk out of the theatres without heaving this wired face of shock and total awe at what they have just seen.
In the few single minutes of this chapter, or better described as "a short film" the small group of animators who worked on it managed to create something so universal, so internal and fierce, that - and I don't think I speak for myself here - I would pay a full priced ticket to the theatres to see only this segment over and over again!
I was so blown way by this segment I couldn't stop talking about it for months to everyone I encountered. It entered my heart with it's strong and emotional message, and had such a strong impact on me... That is one film I just can't wait to own on Blu-ray format! Can you imagine that???
I created this drawing just a short month after the 3rd time I saw the film in theatres... I didn't had much reference pictures from the film then, most - if not all - of it was based on my memory, which is "not that good" (to all my friends who really know me, shot up!). I used oils and acrylics paint for the creation of this drawing... It took weeks to dry out! the original canvas size is something like 60X60 centimetres... And I used only 2 size brushes... The lack of reference explains the incorrect details of the pink tree and the elk - which I had NO image of, non what so ever ... Still, this drawing holds up a very warm spot in my heart, and is hung up in my living room till today.
Even though it's a really old piece, I sure hope you'll like it, and that it gives yet another look into my works... As I don't post a lot of my oils here...
Have a Wonderful Day Everyone!

I believe in Jesus Christ, my Savior. If you do too, copy and paste this into your signature.
Treat others the way you want to be treated.
If we spent every minute of our lives thanking God for all that He has done, that still wouldn't be enough.
A little hard work never killed anybody.
