An old piece I've done during my 4 years studies of animation at the university.
It was done on one of our class 'trips' to a stuffed animal museum. Kind of a creepy place, but facinating at the same time. We needed to draw the first thing we see when we walked in, and we had a very shot time it too.
A cute squirrel caught my eyes right away and this is the outcome
Even though it's a very old piece of mine, I still like cause it was the first time I drew 'realistic' squirrel!

It quite reminds those amazing illustrations by Arthur Rackham. You did something similar in a Brother Bear picture, am I wrong? That was wonderful too.
This fellow looks a bit more cheerful than I imagine his stuffed counterpart did. Or maybe that's just a property of squirrels. Either way, very nicely done.

In a short time? *is amazed* How short is short... because... this is wonderfully drawn! It looks alive, not stuffed and I LOVE squirrels! Looks like an european red squirrel to me.
