Head model sheet for the character of "Beast" from the production the short film "Lady Ice".
I gotta say, Beast, is one my original character designs that I was most proud of! I still love him a lot, and I had a blast working on him - it is so cool and different to work on animals then humans. And I draw humans a lot, this was a real blast, and I loved every minute of it. Also it is a made up animal, a mix of a bear and a wolf, or something, so I could play along with it...
This is a Model Sheet for the animator who animates the character to use as a reference while animating and to make sure they stay on model.
-------------------------------- All characters designs are original creations, and belongs to David Kawena (me). Any use of these characters or their likeness without permission from me (the artist/creator) is prohibited by law.
I remember watching this movie. I was absolutely blown away.

Does it speak, out of curiosity? One of the drawings of his face makes him look as if he is actually speaking. I know alot of Disney animals talk, sing, and act annoyingly adorable, so I'm going to go on ahead and assume he speaks. Am I right?

It's good to break from what you specialize the most and diversify. I need to work on landscapes and scenery! >.<
