I drew this guy last month while I was going through some rough times as I said, and I really needed something to cheer me up...
For the few moments while I drew this one, it really made me feel better... I really love that about drawing. It has the power to take you away from everything, creating yourself a world of fantasies (not just in the sexual meaning) where everytng you want is there for to take and create, eveything is better... I have no idea how my life would have been without my drawings, and I really don't want to know... The initial thought behind this one was to make a design for a T-shirt... We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. I'm a bomb expert, so if you see me running, you better keep up.
I graduated high school a year ago, and I've been having a really hard time getting on my feet. My drawings are my future, but my parents think they're stupid and frivelous and a waste of time better spent concentrating on a more "practical" career. Recently I had a MAJOR falling out with my mom, where she even went so far as to TAKE my sketchbook, pencils, and all my art supplies AWAY. It was only for a night, but still, I just about went crazy. Just knowing that I had nothing at all to get myself away from all the worries and problems, I mean she even took away all my ballpoint pens. I didn't even have earsers. That was fucking SCARY. I had a panic attack right there, heart palpatations and everything. You just can't take away someone's coping tool. You can't do that.
So really, from the bottom of my heart I understand what you mean.
