R.I.P My Beautiful Cowboy...

Description

Last night while I was watching one of my most favorite movies "Brokeback Mountain" on t.v. I thought, 'How come I never got to do this Brokeback inspired art work I've been wanting to for so long?! What's stopping me?"

Today I woke up to hear the news of the death of Heath Ledger... Sadness overflowed me and as always with this kind of feelings I've turned to the only safe spot I have - drawing. I won't deny the fact that there are tears in my eyes as I'm writing this... This is not the way I thought I'll draw something from this wonderful movie.

I don't want to go into what was going on in Heath's personal life, and what lead to his death - I'm sure the media will have a blast talking about it on and on in the next few days...

I wasn't his number one fan, but he touched me deeply in "Brokeback Mountain'' - his role there was actually one of the final stages of my self acceptance...

In loving memories...

i think this work is awesome.
The shading is fantastic, very nice use of color, the value is incredible, it looks just like him!
And the meaning behind it is really very touching, it made me go AW!! And i love the way he looks like he's about to cry but he's trying to hold it in, and how he's looking away from the camera.
The spatter on the jacket kinda threw me off though.
Maybe it could be placed in the edge of the picture so that spot on the jacket wouldn't draw peoples eyes away from the face.
