First of all, I like the fact that this picture was done in a black-and-white frame of vision because it gives the picture itself a 1940's-esque feel. I like how the mouse looks at the man in a steampunk uniform with optimism and cheerfulness because the emotions pretty much tell the story -- not in just the mouse, but in the man as well. I also like how you tinted the windows, used appropriate shading, put fine detailing in your outlining, and gave this picture a Golden Age cartoon look. Needless to say, there isn't really anything in this picture that bothers me. In fact, your skills as a digital artist are very impressive. So being the kind critic that I am I'm going to be honest about how I would rate this picture. For vision, it's a 4 out of 5. For originality, it's a 4 out of 5. For technique, it's a 4.5 out of 5. And for impact, it's a 3.5 out of 5. This gives your picture a grand total of 16 out of a possible 20, which is still very good.
A professional digital artist may look at this same picture you made and find at least a couple of things wrong with it, but if that were the case those things would only be minor issues that could otherwise be fixed. Now, as far as the picture as a whole is concerned, I'm not completely impressed with it because I see stuff like this all the time; however, I am very pleased with how this came together, and I'm sure that with the right advice and guidance you can only get better from here. I wish you all the best going forward. :D

This is absolutely AMAZING!

It looks like it's a scene right out of a movie! The man and mouse are so clearly defined while the background is somewhat blurry but you can still tell what's in the background and what may have been going on prior to the man finding the little mouse! This is truly astounding!! If this ever becomes a movie, sign me up! I'd for sure watch it!

I like the whole concept and the adorable mouse. I like the blurred background making both characters stand out almost three dimensional. Very handsome man!! I already have this drawing from 2015.

As fantastic as this is, this feels very staged to me. You captured the two characters' personalities very strongly here, but the scenario in which you put them doesn't seem to make sense. The man looks way too fascinated and intrigued while having a sharp object that close to his face and eyes. That implies a lot of trust for someone you just met.

As others have already said, the technical execution of this piece is exceptional with the attention to detail and the stylistic choice you've made.

AWESOME! Reminds me of Rankin/Bass' "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and Disney's "Ben and Me". Which is good!

Shouldn't that mouse be holding a cutlass or saber instead of its hand and a half sword?   I love the attention to aperture on this tho. so pretty.

It is certainly Disneyesque, but more reminiscent of Don Bluth.

Thanks. I know Don Bluth was with Disney, but he very much had his own style, which davidkawena picked up on very well.

This is great! It reminds me a bit of my fanfic I wrote with Basil the mouse detective who met Sherlock Holmes and started to work together. The whole picture looks like a black and whit screenshot from a movie.

I can't get over the crazy amount of detail in the background! Even out of focus there's so much to look at. I noticed that about your work, you give crazy amounts of detail. Especially in that hot naked prince from Frozen (I forget his name) you did a while back, there was so much detail, something that was actually missing from the original movie once I rewatched it. Great Work!!!!!

I love this! Then again I love all of your work. Your depiction of male sexuality combined with your inspirational grasp of the Disney-esque likeness gives even your sketches a life of their own.I love the period you chose for these characters it's as though they wouldn't belong anywhere else, like they were made solely for the steampunk era. Wonderfully done!!!
