In one moment a mother no longer has a son, a doughtier no longer have a father, kids can no longer visit their grandmother.

You try to think only about that, but then you look at the pictures of the victims, and the picture of the terrorist who killed them, and the mind don't want to go there. You start to hear voices on the news saying it was 'an accident', or blaming it on 'misuse of drugs'...

Then pictures of a young man holding a gun in his hand in one shot and burning the American flag in another start to appear online. And again, you try not go there, cause you don't want to live in this kind of world, it's too hard to admit it. You block away all recent shooting and brutality by the police and all the videos you saw online. In your search for answers that will please or ease you, you come across news reports that are now spreading this insane 'manifesto' and you can no longer escape from the truth!

And now everyone talks about how you need to invest more money in education to 'black schools', cause it is very easy to think that the problem is, again, within the African American community. And I say that they should also start thinking of spending money on education in 'white schools' like the ones from which the Charleston shooter came from because this is where the problem is! When some people so proudly jamming to Beyoncé, but don't want people with same skin colour as her living in their neighbourhoods!

Racism is alive, and well! And it is thriving in the hearts and souls of the younger generation, and it is time for everyone to wake up! Get out of our bubbles and start seeing this latest shooting for what  it is - A racist hate crime - and stop trying to cover it up with prettier words that will make it easier on us handle or give us excuse to 'understand it'!

Ignoring racism won't make it go away! It is up to each of us to take ownership of our actions, test ourselves brutally and honestly as to where may act as part of the problem, and as a whole be more kind to one another, see people for who they are not for how they look.

I pray the images of Susie Jackson, Rev. DePayne Middleton-Doctor, Rev. Daniel L. Simmons Sr., Cynthia Hurd, Ethel Lee Lance, Tywanza Sanders, Myra Thompson, Rev. Sharonda Singleton, and Rev. Clementa Pinckney would be the images of the last people murdered because of the colour of their skin.
Amen.

hmmm facebook link here is dead - i'm now not sure i posted a mention of using your dolls for the characters in our radioplay to your actual page on facebook but the artwork matches. Anyway I just wanted to say thank you because it was something i think you'd like to know (prejudice changes with small things,) like it was close to australia day and suddenly i realised my default mental picture of our new hero was a white guy so our little radio play has an indigenous hero now - i made his avatar with your artwork on dolldivine. it was so easy to do in consultation with our aboriginal cast member. It has nothing at all to do with the usual reasons for casting an indigenous character like bush tucker or going camping in the outback - its a doctor who fanfic! He just happens to say 'deadly' instead of 'awesome' because the word is more interesting but it was real nice to be able to make a fantastic picture easily for our facebook banner - so thank you from doctoraudioadventures.com
